USC's Katherine Muzi Named Pac-12 Women's Golfer Of The Month For November

Nov 30, 2021

USC senior Katherine Muzi, who won her first collegiate event earlier this month at the Pac-12 Preview, has been named the Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Month.

Muzi, whose conference monthly honor is the first of her Trojan career, won the Pac-12 Preview on Nov. 3 at 9-under 210 (68-71-71) in wire-to-wire fashion, clinching the victory with a birdie on 18. It was that putt that staved off hard-charging Emma Spitz of UCLA, who closed with four birdies over her final six holes but was one stroke short of Muzi.

Muzi was the first Trojan to win the event since Robynn Ree's 2016 victory at 6-under 213.

Her final-round 71 marked her sixth round under par this season and the seventh of par or better while her victory came one event after she posted a then-career-best 10th-place effort at the Stanford Intercollegiate.

Muzi is second on the Trojans in stroke average (72.42) and rounds in the 60s (three) with a pair of top 10 finishes and three in the top 20 in four fall starts.
