Isanovic Named Academic All-American

Dec 15, 2021

AUSTIN, Texas - After a stellar junior season on and off the court, outside hitter Iman Isanovic was named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team, the first from Sun Devil Volleyball to earn this honor since 2000.

Following her academic all-district nod she earned back in November, which was her second season in a row earning that honor, Isanovic was eligible for the All-America award. She is one of eight All-Americans with a perfect GPA and one of two Pac-12 honorees. The junior from Bosnia and Herzegovina has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 while pursuing her degree in political science.

Isanovic earned numerous accolades for her athletic performance as well. She was named to the All-Pac-12 Team, the first from Sun Devil Volleyball to earn that nod since 2017. Additionally, she was the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week on October 25 and the Sports Impact/AVCA Player of the Week the next day. She led the team in kills (490), service aces (34) and solo blocks (20), and with her kill total, she is 10th for total kills in a single season in program history. At the end of the regular season, she ranked fifth in the country for total attacks, 13th for total kills and 14th in total points.

The last student-athletes from Sun Devil Volleyball to be named academic All-Americans were Jami Coughlin and Amanda Burbridge in 2000, who were on the first team and third team, respectively.
