Spring Schedule Announced for Women's Tennis
SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah women's tennis team will participate in its first spring match on Saturday, Jan. 15, when they host Dixie State at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The 2022 spring schedule is highlighted by the Utes playing 16 home matches.
Along with hosting 16 matches, Utah will face seven teams that made the NCAA Tournament last spring. Five of the seven matches against NCAA opponents will occur at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. To view the complete schedule, click here.
The first match for the Utes will be on Saturday, Jan. 15, when they host Dixie State in a doubleheader. Utah returns to action with two more matches on Jan. 22 by hosting Seattle and Montana.
The first weekend Utah hits the road is Jan. 28 and Jan. 30 when they head to Cincinnati, Ohio and Bloomington, Ind. to face Cincinnati and Indiana.
Utah returns to the George S. Eccles Tennis Center for the next eight matches following the first road trip. Starting Feb. 4, Utah will play at home until March 6. Matches during this homestand include Idaho State (Feb. 4), Washington State (Feb. 11), Minnesota (Feb. 13), Denver (Feb. 19), BYU (Feb. 25), Northern Arizona (Feb. 27). The last two matches of the homestand open Pac-12 play for the season by hosting USC (March 4) and UCLA (March 6).
Utah hits the road for the next six matches following the eight-match homestand, including the first four against Pac-12 opponents. The road trip will start in Washington (March 11) and Washington State (March 13) before heading to the Bay Area on March 18 and March 20 to play California and Stanford. The final road matches of the year come on March 26 and 27 when they take on Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymount.
Utah closes out the season with four straight matches at home. The Utes welcome the Ducks of the University of Oregon on April 1. A week later, Utah hosts Arizona (April 8) and Arizona State (April 10).
The Utes will close out the regular season on Saturday, April 16, when they host Colorado.
