Cal Names 2022 Season Captains

Quinnlyn Mason, McKenna Vranicar, Catherine Rojas and Liz Scott will serve as team captains for the 2022 campaign.

BERKELEY – Cal head coach Brooke Eubanks announced Thursday that seniors Quinnlyn Mason, Catherine Roxas, Liz Scott and McKenna Vranicar have been selected as team captains for the 2022 season.

"It is a special honor to be a team captain and it's even that much more special when it's voted on by your teammates," Eubanks said. "I really like this group, and I'm excited about the leadership our 2022 captains will provide. The group is a great mix of players that have been around our program and know what it takes to be a great Golden Bear like Catherine, McKenna and Quinnlyn, along with our graduate transfer Liz Scott, who will bring a fresh perspective, ideas and potentially a different look at leadership. We always want to be looking at as many different ways as possible to get better."

"We have been working hard this fall on the field and also with Sean Hendricks from the Cameron Institute on identifying, defining and living our team core values for Cal lacrosse," Eubanks added. "At the end of the semester we picked the leaders of each of our core values and narrowed in on our captains from there."

Cal will open its 2022 season with a two-game East Coast road trip at Navy (Fri., Feb. 11, 3 pm ET/Noon PT) and perennial national power Virginia (Sun., Feb. 13, Noon ET/9 am PT) before its home opener against San Diego State (Fri., Feb. 18, 5 pm PT).
