Dec 21, 2021

SEATTLE – Senior Terrell Brown Jr. scored 23 points, grabbed six rebounds and had three steals to lead all scorers, but four Utah Valley players scored in double figures as the visiting Wolverines won 68-52 at Alaska Airlines Arena on Tuesday night.

The Huskies (5-5) enter the holiday break with eight days to regroup and get healthy before Pac-12 play begins on Dec. 29 at Washington State.

Le'Tre Darthard scored 16 points, Fardaws Aimaq added 15 points and 15 rebounds, as Utah Valley (9-3) ran away from the Huskies in the second half.

Darthard hit two 3-pointers early in the second half to start a 15-4 run that gave the Wolverines a 54-39 lead with 7:49 remaining. The Huskies drew within nine near the 5-minute mark, but Tim Caesar responded with a 3-pointer and the Wolverines led by double digits the rest of the way.

Emmitt Matthews Jr. added 10 points for Washington.

The Huskies used a 9-0 run to take a two-point lead, 25-23, at the two-minute mark of the first half, keyed by six points from Brown. But the Wolverines went on a 7-2 run to close the first half and took a 30-27 advantage into the locker room.

Brown, who entered the game leading the Pac-12 in scoring, has reached double-digits in all 10 games, including six with 20 or more points. He is now 22 points away from 1,500 in his career, which includes stops at Seattle U and Arizona.
