Battle of the Best

Host Arizona State will be seeking a third consecutive crown and fifth title in the last six years. Arizona State (2021, 2020, 2018, 2017), Stanford (2019) and Oregon State (2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012) have combined to capture the past 10 Pac-12 Championships, and will be joined in the meet by fellow league wrestling members Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield and Little Rock. Following last year’s event, 27 wrestlers from all six programs were represented at the 2021 NCAA Wrestling Championships in St. Louis, Mo.

Pound-for-Pound

The NCAA recently released the first coaches' ranking for the 2022 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships and it includes 24 Pac-12 wrestlers, with at least one in each of the 10 weight classes. The 2022 Pac-12 Wrestling Championships will feature an elite showing at 165 lbs., home to Cal Poly’s No. 1 Evan Wick, Stanford’s reigning National Champion and Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet recipient No. 3 Shane Griffith. ASU's Brandon Courtney placed runner-up in the 125 lbs. division at NCAAs last year.

Desert Financial Arena

Located on the campus of Arizona State University, Desert Financial Arena can seat over 14,000 spectators. The championship is returning to Tempe for the first time since 2019 and seventh time in the event's 60-year history. The Pac-12 held its championships in 2021 at Gill Coliseum on the campus of Oregon State.
