Richardson Named to Bob Cousy Award Mid-Season Watch List

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Will Richardson has been named one of 10 candidates for the 2022 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award, it was announced today by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
 
Richardson was one of the initial 20 members of the watch list, that has now been narrowed down to 10 candidates, and is one of two Pac-12 players to make the list.
 
The Pac-12 preseason first team honoree is leading the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.463) and ranks fourth in points per game (14.9). He has scored in double figures 11 game in a row and has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week twice this month.
 
On Jan. 23 versus Washington, Richardson became the 37th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points and is also ranked 10th all-time in steals with 123. He currently sits at fourth on the career three-point percentage list, shooting 41.8 percent in 105 career games.
 
Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in each of the three rounds. In late February, the watch list of 10 players for the 2022 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award will be narrowed to 5. In March those finalists will be presented to Mr. Cousy and the Hall of Fame's selection committee where a winner will be selected.
