Tempe – The Arizona State softball program has been named the No. 21 team in the nation in the USA Today/NFCA preseason rankings, as the organization announced on Tuesday.
The Sun Devils are one of five Pac-12 programs in the top-25, joining No. 3 UCLA, No. 7 Washington, No. 9 Arizona and No. 18 Oregon. ASU ended the 2021 season in the same rank.

Head Coach Trisha Ford and the Sun Devils return 14 members of last season's team, including upperclassmen ranked in the nation's top-100 by Softball America – Makenna Harper and Jazmine Hill.
Freshman right-handed pitcher Mac Morgan was named Softball America's Pac-12 newcomers to watch for the 2022 season.
With the NFCA poll's release, the Sun Devils sweep the rankings at No. 21.

The Sun Devils will begin their 2022 campaign on Thursday, Feb. 10 with a doubleheader against California Baptist at 4 p.m. and No. 3 Oklahoma State at 6:30 p.m. MST.
