David Puig Named Pac-12 Golfer of the Month

Feb 2, 2022

Sun Devil David Puig has earned the Pac-12 Golfer of the Month for January as the Maroon and Gold are competing in the Amer Ari Invitational this week in Kamuela, Hawaii at Hapuna Golf Course.

Puig became the first back-to-back Southwestern Invitational champion (73-70-65) and the fourth two-time winner in the history of the tournament. It had marked the seventh time ASU won the individual title as Puig shot 7-under 65 last Wednesday to take medalist honors.

This is Puig's first win of the season and will look to keep the momentum going this weekend at the Amer Ari Invitational with the Sun Devil men's golf team. This is the second time Puig has been named Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month as he was named the recipient in February 2021.

Fellow Sun Devil golfer Cameron Sisk also received the Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month honor in September of 2021 in the beginning of the season after winning the Maridoe Invitational.
