Chiles Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES – Freshman Jordan Chiles of the gymnastics team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Jan. 31 – Feb. 7.
 
The 2020 Olympic silver medalist scored her first career perfect 10, earning a perfect mark on just her second floor routine of the season. The perfect 10 was the first by a Bruin since Mar. 8, 2020 (Kyla Ross, Vault) and the first by a Bruin on floor exercise since Jan. 31, 2020 (Gracie Kramer.
 
Chiles won the all-around with a career-high 39.700, the highest all-around score by a UCLA freshman since Tasha Schwikert scored 39.725 at the 2005 NCAA Regional. She set or tied her career-highs on every event and the all-around, with a 9.875 on vault, 9.925 on uneven bars, 9.900 on balance beam and 10.0 on floor exercise.
 
Chiles also helped UCLA record season-high team totals on every event, as the Bruins improved upon their previous season high by 1.25 points.
 
This is Chiles' first career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
