Triathletes Camille Buchanan and Evan Welch to Compete This Weekend

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Sun Devil triathletes Camille Buchanan and Evan Welch are to compete this weekend in the Tritonman Elite Development Draft Legal Sprint on Saturday, Feb. 12 as they look to qualify for elite licenses.
 
The freshmen duo finished off their first season with the Sun Devils after racing at the St. George NCAA qualifier and helping the Sun Devils finish the regular season with a victory. Buchanan, finished in fifth with a time of 1:06:20 and Welch, finished in twelfth with a time of 1:09:19 at St. George's.
 
The draft legal sprint race gives athletes a chance to compete before Collegiate Nationals, the race is hosted at Mission Bay and Fiesta Island which is home to the first triathlon. The draft legal women's race will begin at 8 a.m. with an awards ceremony to follow at 10 a.m.
 
The UC San Diego Triathlon team is proud to host the 15th annual Tritonman and continuing the tradition of hosting the Tritonman triathlon with a 750m swim, 21k bike and a 5k run.
