Musselman Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES – Redshirt senior Maddie Musselman of the women's water polo team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Feb. 8 – Feb. 14.
 
Musselman led the Bruins in scoring (eight goals) and total points (nine) for the fourth-straight week, helping UCLA remain undefeated on the year at 15-0 and 2-0 in the MPSF, with four victories and the Triton Invitational Championship. She also led UCLA defensively with six steals and three field blocks in the four games.
 
The Bruins opened with a 20-1 win over Santa Clara and a 13-6 win at No. 12 UC San Diego on Feb. 12. UCLA followed with a 7-6 win over No. 5 Michigan and an 11-10 win over No. 1 USC on Feb. 13 to claim the title. She scored at least one goal in all four games, running her personal scoring streak to nine consecutive games. In the win over the Trojans, she scored a hat trick including the game-winning goal with 0:23 remaining and added two steals. She had one goal, two steals, one field block and drew one exclusion in the win over Michigan. She tallied two goals, two field blocks, one assist, and drew one exclusion against UCSD. She also tallied two goals and two steals in the win over Santa Clara.
 
This is Musselman's first-career athlete of the week award.
