USC's Shane Ffrench Second Heading Into John A. Burns Intercollegiate Finale

Senior Jack Boulger fired his second straight 2-under 70 Friday.

Sophomore Shane Ffrench backed up his opening round 66 with a 2-under 70 while senior Jack Boulger matched the effort with his second straight 70 to pace the USC men's golf team in the second round of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate at the Ocean Course Hokuala in Lihu'e, Kaua'i on Friday (Feb. 18).

USC is now sixth at a combined 4-under 572 (283-289). Arizona remains in first (-24-under) with New Mexico second (21-under).

Ffrench has posted his best 36-hole stretch as a Trojan and sits in second at 8-under 136 (66-70), three off the lead. Starting on the fourth hole today, he was 3-under through his first 15 holes, fell to 1-under after a double on 18 but a birdie on 2 got him back to 8-under.

Boulger is tied for 12th at 4-under 140 (70-70), also establishing his best two-round stretch at USC. His second round round saw four birdies.

Freshman Gavin Aurilia (74-72) and sophomore Krando Nishiba (72-74) are tied for 40th at 2-over. Aurilia was 3-over thru 13 holes today but closed at 3-under to square his round. Nishiba had a steady day outside of a triple on 8.

Junior Park Sisk, who turned around his round today with a birdie on 1 and an eagle on the par 5 second hole, is tied for 84th at 7-over 151 (78-73) and freshman Jackson Rivera is tied for 90th at 9-over 153 (71-82).

Play concludes Saturday with a 8:30 a.m. (HT) shotgun start.
