Beavers Fall to Buffs in Regular Season Finale

Feb 26, 2022

BOULDER, Colo. – The Oregon State women's basketball team dropped its final game of the regular season Saturday afternoon, as Colorado took a 60-45 win in Boulder.

"I really liked our defensive effort in the second half," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "This team doesn't quit, they keep battling. We've been learning a lot of tough lessons lately. Colorado is a veteran team and they're having a great year. Give them a lot of credit."

Kennedy Brown went 4-for-5 from the floor, ending her day with nine points. Ellie Mack went 4-for-7 to finish with 10 points and four rebounds. Greta Kampschroeder and Taya Corosdale had six points apiece.

Jelena Mitrovic had four points and four rebounds.

As a team, the Beavers held Colorado to 37 percent shooting.

The Beavers used an early 7-0 run to go in front 9-4. The Buffaloes answered with seven unanswered points to take the lead late in the first quarter. Colorado headed to the second quarter up 22-16.

Oregon State battled back to take the lead on a Mitrovic runner, but Colorado went in front 30-25 mid-way through the second. The Buffaloes ultimately scored 15-straight points on their way to a 42-26 halftime lead.

The Beavers cut the deficit to single-digits five minutes into the second half, but the Buffaloes led 51-38 after three periods of play. Colorado took the win by 15.

Oregon State ends the regular season with a record of 13-12. The Beavers will be the No. 8 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament and will face Arizona State Wednesday in Las Vegas.
