THE FIELD
Arguably the biggest regular season event of the year has attracted an elite field. Arizona State is one of 17 teams to make the trip to Hilton Head, 10 of which are ranked in the latest Golfstat Top-25. No team is ranked outside the Top-50, making this the deepest field the Sun Devils have faced all season. Coach Missy Farr-Kaye's team has had a ton of success against ranked teams this year, recently beating out six Top-25 teams to finish third at the Lamkin Invitational.

HISTORY AT THE DARIUS RUCKER
The annual tournament was not held last year because of COVID-19. Long Cove Club, in partnership with Darius Rucker and South Carolina, will again play host on Hilton Head Island for the 10th time. This is the fifth time Arizona State has appeared, last competing in the 2018 edition.

The Sun Devils have finished fourth or higher twice, including a third-place finish in 2017. Linnea Strom finished second, while Sophia Zeeb claimed third place individually. Back in 2013, Noemi Jimenez won her second-straight individual title during a breakout sophomore season, claiming medalist honors at the Darius Rucker. She earned a four-stroke win and was joined by teammate Daniela Ordonez (4th) in finishing in the Top-5.

LAST TIME OUT
Ashley Menne and Sun Devil Women's Golf delivered high finishes at the Lamkin Invitational. Arizona State finished in third place, their best result in a qualifying tournament this season. In a field with nine teams in the latest Golfstat Top-25, the Sun Devils proved to be one of the best, beating out No. 4 Oregon, No. 11 Texas, No. 13 Arizona, and No. 14 UCLA. Battling darkness in the second round and rain in the final round today, the Maroon & Gold stayed focused until the very end.

Menne put together a fantastic performance, finishing as the individual runner-up at the Lamkin Invitational. It is a career-best finish for Menne, who had several highlight moments on the course. Her 214 (-2) trailed only defending National Championship Rachel Heck from Stanford, as Menne beat out 17 of the Top-100 players in the latest Golfstat rankings.

SUN DEVILS IN THE RANKINGS
After another strong effort at the Lamkin Invitational, Arizona State is gaining respect in the national polls. Both Golfweek/Sagarin and Golfstat has the Sun Devils as the No. 13 team in the nation. With a big test this upcoming week, the Maroon & Gold will have a chance to improve upon that ranking.

Several Sun Devils continue to move up the individual national rankings, as Arizona State features one of the most talented rosters in the country. Alexandra Forsterling is the No. 11 in the country according to Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, the highest ranking of any Sun Devil. The same publication tabbed Calynne Rosholt as the No. 28 player in the nation. Golfstat also looks favorably upon several Sun Devils, ranking two in the Top-30. Alexandra Forsterling came in at No. 18 and Calynne Rosholt is right behind her at No. 28, giving ASU one of the most decorated duos in the country.
