Ducks Signee Kel’el Ware Named to 2022 USA Basketball Nike Hoop Summit Team

Feb 28, 2022

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The 2022 Nike Hoop Summit Team, selected by the USA Basketball Men's Developmental National Team Committee, was announced today and features 2022 Oregon men's basketball signee Kel'el Ware.
Largely considered the most competitive high school all-star game in the country, the 10 prospects on the USA's roster will face off against 10 international players selected to the 2022 World Select Team. Duck fans will have an early opportunity to see Ware in action, as the game will be held at the Moda Center in Portland on Friday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
Ware (7-0, 221) is averaging 21.2 points, 12.0 rebounds and 5.7 blocks this season for the North Little Rock (Arkansas) Charging Wildcats. The defending 6A state champions are on a 14-game win streak in search of a second-straight state championship. A dominant force in every game, Ware made headlines earlier this season when he recorded an 18-block triple-double. The consensus 5-star recruit sits at 8th overall in the 247Sports 2022 recruiting class and No. 16 in the ESPN top 100.
"USA Basketball is excited to continue the Nike Hoop Summit tradition in its longtime home of Portland," USA Basketball CEO Jim Tooley said. "The game offers fans and scouts the opportunity to see future stars of the game in a competitive and entertaining environment as we welcome some of the best athletes from across the country and around the world."
Held annually since 1995, 253 Nike Hoop Summit alumni have been drafted by NBA teams, with 14 having been selected with the No. 1 overall pick and 88 taken in the top 10.
