Thorbjornsen Vaults Into Top Five On Day Two
LOS CABOS, Mexico - Sophomore Michael Thorbjornsen carded a 5-under 66 to vault into the top five after the second round at the Cabo Collegiate on Monday. Thorbjornsen tallied seven birdies and one double to jump 15 spots and move within striking distance of the individual leader, Arizona's Chase Sienkiewicz, who sits at 10-under following 36 holes. Monday's round was Thorbjornsen's sixth round of the season in the 60s, including his second consecutive after opening with a 2-under 69 on Sunday.
Ethan Ng continues to sit in strong position and is tied for 20th with a 3-under 139 through two rounds. Henry Shimp and Nate Menon posted matching 1-over 72s in the second round.
Stanford will be paired with Arizona, Houston and Baylor for a 7 a.m. PT shotgun start on Tuesday for the final round.
