Osborne Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

Mar 1, 2022

LOS ANGELES – Junior Charisma Osborne of the women's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Feb. 22 – Feb. 28.

Osborne averaged 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in a road sweep at Arizona to end the regular season. She led the Bruins in scoring in both games, a 64-46 win at No. 12 Arizona (18 points) and a 59-52 win at Arizona State (17 points). She recorded her second double-double of the season and seventh of her career at Arizona, totaling 18 points and 10 rebounds to help snap the Wildcats' 16-game home winning streak.

She added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the win at Arizona State, hitting a go-ahead three-pointer late in the second quarter to give UCLA the lead at halftime and then making another go-ahead three-pointer with a minute to play in the third quarter to regain the lead for good.

She was just as strong defensively, as she helped limit Arizona to a season-low 46 points and was key in holding Arizona State to just 27.6% shooting in the second half. Osborne recorded her 200th career assist and 400th career rebound in the Arizona game.

This is Osborne's fourth-career athlete of the week award and second of the season. She won the award earlier in 2022 after a 25-point performance against Washington State on Jan. 16.
