USC’s Jordyn Jenkins, Rayah Marshall and Jordan Sanders Earn Multiple All-Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Accolades

Mar 1, 2022

Three members of the USC women's basketball team have been tabbed for Pac-12 honors, with Jordyn Jenkins, Rayah Marshall and Jordan Sanders all picking up multiple conference honors for this 2021-22 season's work. A sophomore, Jenkins has earned honors as the Pac-12 Co-Most Improved Player, as well as a spot on the All-Pac-12 Team. Freshman Rayah Marshall is on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, while also holding down a spot alongside grad Student Jordan Sanders on the Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention list. In her final season as a Trojan, Sanders also has scored her second round of All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. And on March 2, the Pac-12 Media Awards were released with Jenkins  as Most Improved Player and also with a spot on  the Media All-Pac-12 Team, while Marshall landed on the Media's All-Freshman Team.

The Trojan trio represents the well-rounded strength on the Trojan roster this season. From the lockdown defense and sharp-shooting of Sanders, to the gritty attack-minded offense of Jenkins, to Marshall's athletic length and knack for blocks, these Trojans have commanded the attention of conference opponents all season long.

A sophomore, Jenkins has more than doubled her scoring output from her freshman season. What's more, she's been averaging more points (17.9) and rebounds (7.3) per game in Pac-12 play than overall, further displaying her upward trajectory in her young Trojan career. She has collected six double-doubles so far, and she's scored in double figures in the last 16 games she's played. All told, the Pac-12 Co-Most Improved Player averages a team-high 15.2 points per game while also adding 6.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. A deserving All-Pac-12 Team pick, Jenkins is third in the conference and 39th in the nation with her shooting percentage of 53.0. This is the inaugural season of the Pac-12 Most Improved Player award.

In her second season as a Trojan, grad student Sanders has her second set of All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention in place. USC's second leading scorer with 12.1 points per game, she is second on the team with 35 threes made while leading the squad on the defensive end with her 1.6 steals per game. Her stingy defense has earned her a spot on the Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention list.

Joining Sanders with All-Defensive Honorable Mention is freshman Marshall, whose eye-popping 2.59 blocks her game ranks her 12th in the nation and tops in the conference. She's riding a streak of 22 straight games with at least one block — having served up a career-high seven at Arizona last weekend — while also standing second on the team with 1.3 steals per game. On the offensive end, the All-Freshman Team honoree is USC's third leading scorer with 11.0 points per game. She leads the Trojans on the boards with her 7.6 rebounds per game, including 5.1 defensive boards a game.

The Trojan trio is about to kick of Pac-12 Tournament play this week, opening up action in Las Vegas against crosstown rival UCLA in a 6 p.m. first-round bout on Wednesday (March 2) at Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
