Shorthanded Beavers Drop Exciting Game At Washington State

PULLMAN, Wash. – Maurice Calloo tied a career-high with 20 points but shorthanded Oregon State lost an exciting game to Washington State, 71-67, on Thursday evening at Beasley Coliseum.
 
The Beavers had only six scholarship players available for the game. Warith Alatishe (knees), Rodrigue Andela (foot), Dashawn Davis (illness), Isaiah Johnson (concussion), Xzavier Malone-Key (back) and Tre' Williams (knees) were all out.
 
Calloo knocked down three 3-pointers and went 7-for-8 from the free throw line. He added seven rebounds.
 
Dexter Akanno scored a career-best 12 points and Jarod Lucas added 11. Roma Silva finished with eight points and nine rebounds, while Glenn Taylor Jr. had seven points, six rebounds and five assists.
 
Ahmad Rand came off the bench and contributed nine points and two blocked shots.
 
Lucas and Taylor Jr. played all 40 minutes.
 
TJ Bamba led Washington State (17-13, 10-9 Pac-12) with 16 points.
 
Oregon State (3-26, 1-18 Pac-12) concludes regular-season play against Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Network.
