Utah Golf Heads North for the Bandon Dunes Invitational

THIS WEEK
The Utah Men's golf team will travel to Bandon, Oregon to compete in the Bandon Dunes Invitational March 6-8. The three-day tournament hosted by Idaho, will run Sunday-Tuesday, and takes place at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. The Utes competed at Bandon just a year ago where they tied for second in one of the teams three top three finishes during the 2021 season.

THE FIELD
The 42nd ranked Utes will compete in a field of 15 team that includes Idaho, Seattle U, SIU Edwardsville, Army, Washington State, Fresno State, Utah Valley, Boston College, Kansas, Oregon, San Jose State, Air Force, Hartford and California Baptist.
 
UTAH'S LINE-UP
The Utes' five-man lineup will once again consist of seniors Tristan Mandur and Blake Tomlinson, sophomore Javier Barcos, redshirt freshmen Martín León and true freshmen Braxton Watts. Making his tournament debut as an individual will be true freshmen Zach Neff.

"We are looking to bounce back after our performance in Vegas earlier this week. It's a quick turnaround but being up here at one of the world's premier golf resorts is incredible and we're excited to compete on Sheep Ranch. None of the boys have played the golf course and it should be a great week"

TOURNAMENT DETAILS
The Bandon Dunes Invitational is a three-day tournament consisting of 54 holes with 18 being played each day of the event. The event will take place at the Sheep Ranch golf course at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore.

LAST TIME OUT
The Utah Men's Golf team finished in fifth place out of a 15-team field at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate after shooting 9-under (855). Four Utes finished inside the top 30 with Tomlinson leading the way shooing 2-under (214) and tying for 16th. Barcos and Watts would both tie for 25th after shooting even par (216) through 54 holes. Rounding out the team was Leon who tied for 28th shooting 1-over (217) and Mandur who tied for 42nd shooting 5-over (221).
