Softball Picks Up 14th Straight Win Defeating NDSU Sunday

Mar 6, 2022

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — No. 25 Oregon State (17-3) swept through the Amy S. Harrison Classic this weekend, including Sunday's 3-1 victory over North Dakota State. With today's results, the Beavers are now riding a 14-game winning streak which is the longest under head coach Laura Berg.

The day was highlighted by Tarni Stepto's complete-game performance in the circle during the weekend finale. The Aussie struck out nine and allowed just one hit to the 23 batters she faced, earning her fifth win of her Beaver career.

The Orange & Black scattered four hits on the day and did all their damage in the second inning. Four Beavers registered a hit, led by Madison Simon's 1-for-3 performance with a team-high two RBIs after ripping a two-out single to right field in the top of the second that would eventually be the game-winner.

After the Bison took the early 1-0 lead after the first, Des Rivera doubled to left center to even the ball game in the top of the second.

After giving up the run in the first frame, Stepto responded with a perfect game in the final six innings.
