Stokmans, Taylor Lead Beavers Through 36 Holes In California

FAIRFAX, Calif. – Danique Stokmans and Issy Taylor both finished a 36-hole day under par to lead the Oregon State women's golf team at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational on Monday.
 
The Beavers sit in ninth place in the 13-team field after shooting a 15-over 294-297--591 at the par-72, 6,157-yard Meadow Club.
 
The final round of the 54-hole tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday with a shotgun start and live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
 
Stokmans opened the day with an even-par 72 and then dropped in five birdies in the afternoon to post a 2-under 70 that moved her into a tie for ninth place with a 2-under 142.
 
Taylor equaled Stokmans with a 2-under 70 in Monday's second round after shooting a 1-over 73 in the morning and is tied for 12th place with a 1-under 143.
 
Stokmans, who is a redshirt freshman, had her best career score of 4-under 68 at the Dick McGuire Invitational this past fall and her best career finish is fifth place at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview in the final tournament of the 2021 fall season.
 
Taylor's best career score is a 4-under 68 as a freshman at the Cougar Cup and Molly Collegiate Invitational in 2019. Her best career finish is seventh place at the Meadow Club Invitational in the spring of 2020.
 
Ellie Slama fired an even-par 72 with five birdies in the first round but had two big numbers in the second round that dropped her into a tie for 44th place with an 8-over 72-80--152.
 
Chayse Gomez is tied for 58th place with a 12-over 77-79--156 and Madde Sund is tied for 62nd with a 13-over 79-78--157.
 
San Jose State was the only team to finish the 36-hole day in red figures, posting a 12-under 564 that is 10 strokes better than No. 1 Stanford, which carded 2-over 578 for second place.
 
Camille Boyd of Washington holds the individual lead with a 7-under 137.
