UPSET ALERT! Devils Take Down #33 Texas Tech

Mar 12, 2022

TEMPE - Arizona State men's tennis is ROLLING! The Sun Devils upset No. 33 Texas Tech Saturday afternoon in round two of ASU's Spring Break Tournament at the Kiwanis Tennis Center. ASU dropped just three sets throughout the entire match and won in straight-set sweeps on every finished court but one. Head coach Matt Hill described the match as the best performance from the team he's seen all season. ASU's points came from the double's point and singles wins from captains Fabien Salle & Max McKennon, along with Jacob Bullard. ASU closes out the tournament at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow against No. 33 Princeton.

The doubles point came from 6-2 wins at both courts one and two thanks to Salle/McKennon and Murphy Cassone/Bullard. Jacob Bullard then made a statement at No. 4 singles when he was first off the courts in a near-perfect 6-1, 6-2 match against Olle Wallin. McKennon then won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2, and Salle put a pin in the day with his 6-4, 6-3 win over Reed Collier at No. 2
