Wildcats To Host NCAA First and Second Rounds

Mar 13, 2022

TUCSON, Ariz. – For the second time in program history, Arizona Women's Basketball will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats will welcome North Carolina, and Stephen F. Austin and UNLV to McKale Center as part of the Greensboro Region. Arizona, the No. 4 seed, will play in the NCAA Tournament on its home court for the first time since 1998.

Arizona will face UNLV on Saturday, March 19 at 7 p.m. (MST) on ESPN2 following the Stephen F. Austin-North Carolina match-up at 4:30 p.m. (MST).

The Wildcats return to the NCAA Tournament for a second consecutive year following the program's historic run to the championship game versus Stanford in San Antonio in 2021. In the 1998 NCAA tournament, the Adia Barnes-led Wildcats won both games in Tucson before losing to UConn in the Sweet 16.
