Postseason Play For Utah Gymnastics Begins Saturday at Pac-12 Championships

MEET WEEK
No. 4 Utah begins postseason play at the Pac-12 Championships this Saturday, March 19, at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. The Red Rocks will compete in the evening session, which is slated to begin at 6 p.m. MT. The second session of the conference championships will feature the four Pac-12 Regular Season Co-Champions in No. 4 Utah, No. 10 California, No. 13 Oregon State and No. 14 Arizona State. The meet will be televised on the Pac-12 Network and tickets to the event can be purchased here.
 
Based on the team's national qualifying score, Utah earned the top seed and will begin on vault, while second-seeded California will begin on bars, third-seeded Oregon State on beam, and fourth-seeded Arizona State on floor. Competing in the first session at 1 p.m. MT will be No. 16 UCLA, No. 23 Washington, Stanford and Arizona.

IN THE RANKINGS
Utah remained fourth in the nation for the fifth week in a row following the conclusion of the regular season. The Red Rocks moved to the No. 1 beam team in the country, while coming in at No. 2 on floor, No. 5 on vault and No. 6 on bars this week. Individually, Grace McCallum ranks in the top-15 on every event and is seventh in the all-around. McCallum is tied for No. 8 on bars, is No. 12 on beam and floor, and tied for No. 15 on vault.
 
Joining McCallum in the beam rankings is Maile O'Keefe, who is No. 4 overall, along with Cristal Isa and Abby Paulson, who rank No. 6 and No. 16, respectively. Sydney Soloski is third in the nation on floor, Lucy Stanhope is No. 15 on vault, Sage Thompson is No. 24 on bars, and Jaedyn Rucker is No. 25 on vault to round out the Red Rocks in the top-25.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• Utah has hit the 198-mark in two competitions this season. It is the first time since the 2015 that the Red Rocks have scored a 198 or better in at least two outings.
• In the Pac-12, Utah has five gymnasts ranked in the top seven on beam, while the Red Rocks are the only team in the conference to have at least three gymnasts ranked in the top-seven on each event.
• Maile O'Keefe has scored a 9.925 or better in eight of 10 beam routines this year, which includes two 10s and two 9.975s.
• Sydney Soloski has recorded a 9.925 or better on floor in eight of 11 meets, which includes three 9.975s, while Cristal Isa has recorded a 9.90 or better on beam in eight of 11 meets, which includes three 9.975s and a 10.0.
• Grace McCallum has scored a 9.90 or better in 15 of her last 20 routines.
• Amelie Morgan has posted a 9.825 or better in the leadoff position on bars and beam in all but two routines this season, which includes 13-of-22 routines scored at a 9.875 or better.
 
CHALK TALK
• Utah has had 10 of the 16 gymnasts who have competed at least one routine this season earn an event title.
• The floor lineup has seen 11 gymnasts compete at least one routine this season, while vault has gone nine gymnasts deep.
• Utah has hit 249-264 routines this season. Gymnasts who have hit every routine are Maile O'Keefe (29-29), Amelie Morgan (22-22), Lucy Stanhope (17-17), Sage Thompson (16-16), Sydney Soloski (11-11), Jillian Hoffman (9-9), Eaker (4-4), Jaylene Gilstrap (4-4) and Alani Sabado (1-1).
• Individual event winners this season are Grace McCallum (16), O'Keefe (8), Cristal Isa (6), Soloski (4), Alexia Burch (3), Jaedyn Rucker (3), Thompson (3), Stanhope (2), Abby Paulson (2), and Hoffman (1).
• Pac-12 weekly award winners this season are: Gymnast of the Week: Isa (Jan. 11), O'Keefe (Feb. 1, March 8); Specialist of the Week: Rucker (Jan. 11, Feb. 15), Thompson (Jan. 18), Hoffman (Jan. 25), Isa (Feb. 1, Feb. 22), O'Keefe (Feb. 8); Freshman of the Week: Morgan (Jan. 11), McCallum (Jan. 18); and Coaches Choice: Hoffman (Jan. 11, Feb. 15).
