Williams Named MPSF Player Of The Week

Cal junior goalie Isabel Williams has been named the MPSF Player of the Week.
Williams played a big role in No. 4 Cal's 12-5 victory over No. 12 San Jose State on Saturday. She made 14 saves at a .737 save percentage, while helping limit the Spartans to just a 3-for-15 clip on the power play. Seven of Williams' saves came when San Jose State was on the 6-on-5.
Williams also anchored a defense that held the Spartans scoreless for the first half. The Bears didn't allow a goal until under six minutes remained in the third quarter.
This is the second MPSF Player of the Week award this season for Williams, who leads the conference at 10.4 saves per game.
Cal begins a three-game road trip Friday when it visits No. 10 Arizona State.
