No. 5 USC Men's Volleyball Takes On NAIA Opponent Menlo College

THIS WEEK
This week, the No. 5 USC men's volleyball team (15-3) hosts its annual Alumni Game on Wednesday (Mar. 16) at 7 p.m. PT and then challenges NAIA opponent Menlo College on Friday (Mar. 18) in the Galen Center Pavilion at 7 p.m. PT.

The Menlo Oaks are 15-4 overall on the 2022 season, and are 4-3 in Golden State Athletic Conference  play. The Oaks are currently in third place in the conference and 5th overall in the NAIA Coach's Poll. USC has never played Menlo in program history. The Oaks most recently lost to Ottawa University 1-3 in Surprise, Ariz. on Mar. 12.

Menlo is led by head coach Todd Hollenbeck who is in his fourth season. Prior to coaching the Oaks, Hollenbeck was an assistant coach for the USC men's volleyball team during the 2016-18 seasons.

RANKINGS
USC is ranked 5th in the current AVCA Division I-II Top 15 poll. Menlo is ranked 5th in the NAIA Coach's Poll and 3rd in the Golden State Athletic Conference standings. 
 

DEFENDING OUR HOUSE
USC is 11-0 at home this season and looks to improve that record with one home match this week.

STATS OF NOTE
As a team, USC is in the Top 10 nationally in four statistical categories: second in assists (12.43 per set, and first in MPSF), third in digs (9.43 per set, and first in MPSF), third in kills (13.10 per set, second in MPSF) and third in hitting percentage (.351, second in MPSF).
 

OPPONENTS
This is the first time in program history that USC will play Menlo.
