Day 1 In Fort Worth Results In Split For Sand Devils
FORT WORTH, Texas – To start the Fight in the Fort on Friday, Sun Devil Beach Volleyball split its duals, beating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 4-1 before falling to the host team No. 3 TCU.
Game One: Arizona State 4, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 1
The tournament started out on a high note with Arizona State (8-6, 2-0 Pac-12) getting a 4-1 win over the Islanders (9-5), who are receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Poll. The first wave of matches on courts four and five both went to three sets, with the Sand Devils coming out on top in both of those. The clinch came on court three from Lila Bordis and Sarah Waters, winning in straight sets.

The undefeated Horned Frogs (17-0) won all five courts in straight sets. Despite the loss, the Sun Devils battled on every court, many set scores within four points.
