Mar 19, 2022

TEMPE, Ariz. – Lici Campbell went yard in No. 23 Oregon State softball's setback at No. 22 Arizona State in the second game of the Pac-12 weekend series Saturday.

Freshman Sarah Haendiges suffered her first loss of the season, allowing eight runs, eight hits and struck out six Sun Devils in five innings. Freshman Morgan Flesland appeared in the circle for the first time in her early Beaver career, pitching the final two outs.

Eliana Gottlieb and Campbell collected hits on the day while Kaylah Nelson drew the lone walk.

ASU scored four in the first and fourth frames to go along with the final insurance run in the sixth. Campbell roped a two-out solo shot in the second, good for her third of the season.

The Beavers were forced down in order during the final innings until Gottlieb collected on a two-out single to left.

The Beavers and Sun Devils are back at it one more time tomorrow for the series finale at 1 p.m. PT. Arizona State's live stream will be available for both matches, with the link on the softball schedule page.
