Washington Drops Second Game of Cal Series

Mar 19, 2022

BERKELEY, Calif. – Washington dropped the second game of the Pac-12 opening weekend series Saturday to California, 3-4.

Cal struck quickly, putting two on the board in the bottom of the first. Klingler responded with a three-run home run in the top of the second. She is now one home run away from being 10th on the all-time Husky career list for career home runs.

Cal was able to answer, tying the game in the third. Both teams were unable to find the go-ahead run, until the Golden Bears homered in the bottom of the seventh to earn the win. Kelley Lynch started the game in the circle, but Brooke Nelson and Pat Moore also saw time at the pitching position. Moore received the loss and moves to 4-1 on the season.

Washington will close the series Sunday at 2:00 pm on the Pac-12 Network.
