Mar 21, 2022

TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Volleyball Associate Head Coach Carlos Moreno is joining the 2022 U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team (WCNT) as an assistant coach, representing Arizona State on the national stage.

"It's a great honor and a big responsibility to be in the USA gym." Moreno said. "I'm so thankful to get another opportunity to coach and learn from some of the best coaches and players around. I'm also grateful to our head coach Sanja and Arizona State University for the chance to develop and teach at a different environment. I look forward to bringing what I learn this summer back to Tempe to keep Sun Devil Volleyball growing."

The 2022 Collegiate National Team will train June 19-25 at the National Team Training Center in Anaheim, California. Athletes will train among the best collegiate players in the country, watch the WNT training sessions, study the USA systems, meet with Tokyo 2020 Olympians and be observed by the WNT staff.

Along with the WNT Open Program and the WNT Spring Training Camp, the WCNT is an opportunity for the U.S. Women's National Team (WNT) coaching staff to observe and evaluate NCAA athletes with the highest potential. The team includes 38 of the country's top collegiate women's volleyball players and a coaching staff of seven, including three Olympic medal winners and two others with Olympic coaching experience.

"It's awesome to have a Sun Devil in the USA gym," Arizona State Head Coach Sanja Tomasevic said. "Carlos getting invited again speaks volumes of him as a coach and we are always excited to have him be able to contribute and learn from some of the best coaches in the game."

Moreno has been with the Sun Devils for five seasons. Alongside head coach Sanja Tomaevic, he has helped coach an All-Pac-12 player each season, including two that made the All-Pac-12 Team. The program has earned 10 ranked wins during his time in Tempe.
