UCLA Placed in NCAA Raleigh Regional

The 14th-seeded UCLA Gymnastics team will compete in the NCAA Raleigh Regional, which takes place Mar. 30-Apr. 2 at Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. Joining the Bruins in the Regional will be No. 3 seed Michigan, No. 6 seed LSU, No. 11 seed Missouri, Maryland, Iowa, North Carolina State, Towson and North Carolina.

The regional competition begins with a first-round matchup on Wednesday, Mar. 30 between Towson and North Carolina at 3 p.m. ET. The winner will advance to the 7 p.m. ET second round session on Thursday, Mar. 31 against Michigan, UCLA and Maryland. Competing in the afternoon session at 1 p.m. ET will be LSU, Missouri, Iowa and host North Carolina State. The top two teams from each of the two sessions will advance to the regional final on Saturday, Apr. 2 at 5 p.m.

The top two teams and the top all-around competitor (who is not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships, which take place April 14-16 in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, the top event specialist on each event who is not part of an advancing team or all-around competitor, advances to the national championship (in that event only).

UCLA will begin the regional competition on vault and will conclude on floor exercise.

The Bruins have won a total of 24 NCAA Regional titles and enter this year's regional with a NQS of 197.090 and a season average of 196.735.

The four regional fields and sites are as follows:

Raleigh Regional (at North Carolina State)
First Round (March 30, 3pm ET): Towson vs. North Carolina
Second Round, Session 1 (March 31, 1pm ET): No. 6 LSU, No. 11 Missouri, Iowa, North Carolina State
Second Round, Session 2 (March 31, 7pm ET): No. 3 Michigan, No. 14 UCLA, Maryland, Towson/North Carolina winner
Regional Final (Apr. 2, 5pm ET): Top 2 teams from each second round session

Auburn Regional (at Auburn)
First Round (March 30, 3pm CT): Penn State vs. West Virginia
Second Round, Session 1 (March 31, 1pm CT): No. 7 Auburn, No. 10 Kentucky, Georgia, Southern Utah
Second Round, Session 2 (March 31, 7pm CT): No. 2 Florida, No. 15, Denver, Ohio State, Iowa State/Western Michigan winner
Regional Final (Apr. 2, 5pm CT): Top 2 teams from each second round session

Norman Regional (at Oklahoma)
First Round (March 30, 3pm CT): West Virginia vs. Arizona
Second Round, Session 1 (March 31, 1pm CT): No. 8 Minnesota, No. 9 California, Boise State, Utah State
Second Round, Session 2 (March 31, 7pm CT): No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 16 Arizona State, Arkansas, West Virginia/Arizona winner
