USC Men's Swimming Wraps Up First Evening of Competition at NCAA Championships

USC men's swimming finished in the top-20 in both relays to open the 2022 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, Wednesday (March 23) in Atlanta, Georgia.

USC opened the first evening of action with a 19th-place finish in the 4x50y medley relay. Makrygiannis led off, and was followed by Trent Pellini, Alexei Sancov and Nikola Miljenic, combining to post a 1:23.77.

Next up was the 800y freestyle relay, where the Trojans clocked a 6:20.03 to finish 22nd overall.

Senior Sancov got things going for Troy, posting a 1:33.66 to open the relay.  Max Saunders followed with a 1:35.22. He handed it off to Makrygiannis for a 1:35.96 while Johansson stretched himself for a closing 1:35.19.

The championships will be held at the McAuley Aquatic Center with live championship coverage airing on ESPN3 for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday.
