Huskies Fall in Hard-Fought Game to No. 3 UCLA

SEATTLE – The No. 9 Washington Huskies fell 4-0 to the No. 3 UCLA Bruins on Saturday afternoon, dropping the second game of the series. Washington drops to 20-9 on the season and 1-4 in Pac-12 play.
 
Kelley Lynch got the start in the circle, tossing 4.2 innings allowing two hits and one run with four strikeouts. Pat Moore threw 2.2 innings in relief with three strikeouts.
 
Madison Huskey led Washington at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple. Lilly Agan recorded a double.
 
UCLA broke up Lynch's no-hitter in the top of the fourth on a single by Savannah Pola single. Pola came around to score on an RBI single by Mya Brady to take a 1-0 lead.
 
Huskey opened the bottom of fourth on a leadoff triple down the right field line but was not able to come around to score.
 
Washington had another opportunity in the sixth after Huskey had a one-out single and advanced to second on an Olivia Johnson single. However, neither runner was able to score.
 
The Burins plated three runs in the seventh on a couple of miscues by the Huskies for a 4-0 advantage.
 
The series concludes on Sunday afternoon with a 4 p.m. first pitch at Husky Softball Stadium. The game will also air on ESPNU.
