Huskies Set for Top 25 Matchup at No. 19 Arizona

SEATTLE – The No. 11 Washington softball program hits the road to face No. 19 Arizona in Tucson this weekend for a three-game series.
 
The Huskies have played 26 of their first 30 games on the road this season. This weekend will mark the most games on the road to begin a season since they had 29 road games in the first 33 games to open the 2005 season.
 
Baylee Klingler is continuing her historic season, lead the Pac-12 in home runs (14), a mark that is third-most in the nation. Klingler's 45 RBI is second-most in the nation. The senior also moved into the Top 10 in Husky program history after hitting her 35th career home run last weekend.
 
The first game of the weekend is set for a 5 p.m. first pitch on Friday night. Saturday's game is set for 1:30 p.m. and the Sunday series finale at 12 p.m. All three game will be available on the Pac-12 Network.
 
PLAIN AND SIMPLE
Gabbie Plain continues to rewrite the Husky record books in her fifth and final year. This season, she ranks third with 106 strikeouts in the Pac-12. The Australian native is fourth in the nation with six shutouts. She earned Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honors for the first two weeks of the 2022 season. Plain is 36 strikeouts away from 1,000 career K's.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies look to get back on the winning track after dropping the past four games in conference play after being swept by No. 3 UCLA at home last week.
 
GONE STREAKING
Baylee Klingler is on a 15-game hitting streak and a season-long 17 game reached base streak. Madison Huskey is on a three-game hitting streak, while Olivia Johnson and Lilly Agan have hit safely in two straight games. Sami Reynolds has reached base in eight consecutive games. 
 
MOVIN' INTO THE TOP 10
Baylee Klingler's home run in game one of the UCLA series, moved the senior into the Top 10 all-time in Huskey history with 35 career home runs.
 
Klingler's .442 career batting average is first on the all-time UW list, while her .858 slugging percentage sits in second all-time.
 
Gabbie Plain sits in the Top 10 all-time in Washington history in ERA (1.48), appearances (150), games started (114), wins (97), saves (9), complete games (75), shutouts (41), innings pitched (740), strikeouts (964) and winning percentage (.851).
