Sophomore Brianna Navarrosa carded a 2-over 74 while senior Katherine Muzi and freshman Amari Avery came in with 75s on the first day of the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif., on Monday (April 4).

The Trojans, who are the defending champions of the event, combined for a 12-over 300 and are tied for sixth in the 16-team field. San Jose State leads the event at 1-under with Oregon second at par.

Navarrosa is tied for 20th with her 74 that included a stretch of three straight birdies between 3 and 5.

Avery and Muzi, who both are coming off appearances in the 2022 Augusta National Women's Amateur, the former of which tied for fourth there, are tied for 30th in Napa at 3-over.

For Avery, she has work to do as she tries to continue her collegiate streak of five straight top 8 finishes to start her career.

Freshman Xin (Cindy) Kou is tied for 43rd at 4-over 76 while sophomore Michaela Morard is tied for 49th at 5-over 77.

The event continues Tuesday and Wednesday.
