Ng Leads UW Women On First Day At Silverado Showdown

Apr 4, 2022

NAPA, Calif. – The Washington women's golf team completed the first round of the Silverado Showdown in eighth place, as the team posted a 13-over score of 301.

The Huskies were led by junior Winnie Ng, who carded a 1-over 73 on the par-72 Silverado North Course. Ng had three bogies and two birdies and enters Tuesday's second round in a tie for 14th place on the individual leaderboard.

Sophomore Camille Boyd made three birdies en route to a 2-over 74, good for a tie for 20th place, while Stefanie Deng shot a 75, tying her for 30th.

"It's a hard golf course that really tests one's patience," said UW head coach Mary Lou Mulflur. "For the most part, we hung tough and just grinded out pars. We just need to continue being patient and not forcing things."

The Silverado Showdown continues Tuesday morning with the second of three rounds. The Huskies will tee off of hole one, beginning at 8:00 a.m. PT.
