UCLA Rowing Looks Ahead to Pac-12 Invitational

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's rowing program will return to action in the Pac-12 Invitational at Lake Las Vegas this weekend, competing against a strong field at the two-day event.
 
All 12 collegiate programs competing at the Pac-12 Invitational are either ranked in the latest Pocock CRCA top-20 poll or receiving votes. The Bruins will be joined at Lake Las Vegas by the other six Pac-12 programs, plus No. 15 Pennsylvania, No. 16 SMU, No. 19 Alabama, Clemson and Iowa.
 
UCLA and Washington State are currently receiving votes in the top-20 poll, while the ranked Pac-12 programs include No. 3 California, No. 4 Stanford, No. 8 Washington, No. 12 USC and No. 18 Oregon State.

Results from this weekend's races will be available shortly after each race has completed on the Facebook page (click here) for the Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club.  

The Bruins will race two varsity eight crews and two varsity four crews on Saturday and Sunday (at Lake Las Vegas, located in Henderson, Nev.). UCLA's second varsity four crew will open the races for the Bruins' program at 8 a.m. (PT) each day.
 
This weekend's races will mark the Bruins' third competition of the spring season. UCLA faced USC in a dual-meet regatta on March 13 and raced at the two-day San Diego Crew Classic on March 26 and 27.
 
UCLA's varsity four and varsity eight crews will compete against No. 3 California, No. 18 Oregon State and No. 19 Alabama on Saturday, April 9.
 
The Bruins' varsity eight crews and varsity four crew will take on No. 4 Stanford, Clemson and Iowa on Sunday morning. UCLA's 2V4+ crew will compete against No. 4 Stanford and No. 19 Alabama.
 
Schedules for these races are tentative (pending weather, the order could flip).
