UCLA Falls to Stanford, 1-0

STANFORD, Calif. – The Bruins were unable to overcome a strong pitching performance from Stanford on Saturday afternoon, as UCLA fell, 1-0, to the Cardinal.
 
UCLA (32-4, 10-1 Pac-12) mustered just two hits on the day. Holly Azevedo recorded another strong outing, going 6.1 innings and allowing her only run of the ballgame in the bottom of the seventh inning. Azevedo notched four strikeouts and eclipsed 100 Ks on the season.
 
Delanie Wisz and Anna Vines recorded a hit apiece for the Bruins. UCLA's lineup also drew four walks, but stranded six runners on base.
 
Kaitlyn Lim drew a leadoff walk to open the bottom of the seventh and later stole second base. She came around to score the game-winning run on a one-out single from Emily Young.
 
Regan Krause and Tatum Boyd combined for 7.0 shutout innings for Stanford.  
 
The loss snapped the Bruins' 10-game winning streak to open Pac-12 play and the team's 25-game winning streak overall.
 
Game three of the series between the Bruins and Cardinal is set for Sunday 12 p.m. PT and Boyd & Jill Smith Stadium.
