Dinwiddie, White Set For NBA Playoffs With Wright's Wolves Still Alive

Two former Colorado Buffaloes, and potentially a third, will see action in the NBA Playoffs which tip off on April 16.
 
Derrick White's Boston Celtics are the second seed in the Eastern Conference while Spencer Dinwiddie's Dallas Mavericks are the fourth seed in the West. McKinley Wright IV and the Minnesota Timberwolves are still alive in the NBA Play-In Tournament which begins on Tuesday.
 
In all, five former Buffaloes saw action on the court during the 2021-22 NBA regular season. Three Buffs played in G-League games, including two of the five that spent time with NBA teams.
 
Spencer Dinwiddie, PG, Dallas Mavericks: Averaged 12.6 points and 5.8 assists in his eighth NBA season split between Washington and Dallas. With Dallas, he has scored 363 points with 90 assists and 72 rebounds. He played in 44 games with the Wizards where he put up 556 points with 256 assists, ranking second on team, and 207 rebounds before being traded to the Mavericks.
 
Dallas is the Western Conference's fourth seed in the NBA playoffs and face the Utah Jazz in the first round which starts on Saturday April 16.
 
Derrick White, G, Boston Celtics: Saw action in 75 contests during the regular season, splitting time between San Antonio and Boston, averaging 13.2 points and 4.9 assists. In 26 games with Boston, he has put up 286 points, 92 assists and 88 rebounds.  The Celtics traded for White in February, sending the Spurs Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford and a first-round pick. He played in 49 games, with 48 starts, for the Spurs where he averaged 14.4 points per game while totaling 274 assists and 173 rebounds.
 
The Celtics are the second seed in the Eastern Conference and will play on Sunday, April 17, against the winner of the NBA Play-In Tournament game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
 
McKinley Wright IV, PG, Minnesota Timberwolves: Appeared in five games, totaling five points and three assists as a two-way contract player for the Timberwolves; spending most of his time with the Iowa Wolves in the G-League.
 
The Timberwolves will take part in the NBA Play-In Tournament where they will face the Los Angeles Clippers. If they win, they will earn the seventh seed and face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs. If they lose, they will continue in the Play-In Tournament, hosting either San Antonio Spurs or New Orleans Pelicans for the eighth and final playoff seed.
 
Wright averaged 19.1 points, 7.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 18 games with the Iowa Wolves.
 
Alec Burks, SG, New York Knicks: Played in 81 games, leading the Knicks in steals with 85 while finishing fourth in total points (944) and second in 3-pointers (157). New York was 37-45 on the season, finishing last in the Atlantic Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.
 
One of the longest tenured NBA Buffs, Burks completed his 11th season in the league and his 625 career games rank fourth behind Chauncey Billups (1,043), Scott Wedman (856) and Jay Humphries (794).
 
George King, SF, Agua Caliente Clippers: King averaged 13.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 32 games with the Auga Caliente Clippers in the G-League. He was called up to play four games with the Dallas Mavericks in late December.
 
Tyler Bey, F, Rio Grande Valley Vipers: Played in 29 games for the Houston Rockets G-League affiliate where he put up 344 points, 43 assists and 217 rebounds. The Vipers will face the Delaware Blue Coats in the G-League Finals which begins Tuesday.
