Cats Head Off to Oregon For Pac-12 Championships

Apr 16, 2022

EUGENE, Ore. – Arizona Women's Golf's postseason begins on Monday with the Pac-12 Championships at the Eugene Country Club with the University of Oregon hosting the event for the first time since 2010. The Wildcats are a historically-strong team at the conference championships and have not finished worse than fourth place at the event since the 2005-06 season. Freshmen Carolina Melgrati (73.25) and Lilas Pinthier (74.00) are Arizona's scoring leaders heading into the championships.

"Coming off a top-three finish in Napa last week, our team is in a good place going into Pac-12's," said head coach Laura Ianello. "Our roster has lost some upperclassmen since the season began and all our young ladies have continually grown and developed their games over the course of the season. I am proud of how we have played this season and am excited to see us compete in a championship atmosphere in Eugene."

Not a single member of the Wildcat roster has played an event at the Eugene Country Club as Arizona has not played in a tournament in the Pacific Northwest since the 2018 Pac-12 Championships were held at the Broadmoor Golf Club in Seattle. The Cats are an eight-time winner of the Pac-12 Championships with their last win coming in 2015 at the Boulder Country Club in Colorado.

Arizona will take on the field with three rounds in three days with the Pac-12 Networks providing coverage on the third and final day of the championships on Wednesday.
