Gallas Named All-MPSF First Team, Kobrine, Hall, Frassrand Make Second Team, Paxson Is Honorable Mention

LOS ANGELES--USC redshirt sophomore Simion Gallas was named to the 2022 All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team, while graduate Sam Kobrine, senior Chris Hall and junior Lucas Frassrand made the second team and graduate Cole Paxson made honorable mention. 
 
Kobrine was an All-MPSF first teamer in 2021, while Paxson and Hall earned honorable mention in 2019. Paxson also made the MPSF All-Freshman team in 2018.

Gallas, an opposite hitter, has a team-best 422 kills while hitting .352 in 2022 and also has 131 digs, 53 blocks and 31 aces. Gallas currently tops the MPSF in points per set with 4.87 and is fifth nationally. He is also seventh nationally in kills per set with 4.26 and is second in the conference in the stat. 

Outside hitter Kobrine has recorded 345 kills while hitting .301 this season and also has 119 digs, 42 blocks and a team-best 32 aces.

Hall, a four-year starter, currently tops the MPSF in assists per set with 11.23, and is second nationally. He has collected 1123 assists this year and also has 180 digs, 47 blocks and 15 aces.

Middle blocker Frassrand has tallied 172 kills this season, 73 blocks, 36 digs and 14 aces. 

Veteran libero Paxson leads the team with 223 digs. His three MPSF Defensive Player of the Week honors this season were a conference-high. 

The No. 5 ranked Trojans face Concordia on Wednesday (April 20) at 2 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion at UCLA in an MPSF Tournament quarterfinal match.
