Deng Finishes Ninth At 2022 Pac-12 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Washington sophomore Stefanie Deng finished in a tie for ninth place at the 2022 Pac-12 Women's Golf Championships, which wrapped up Wednesday at cold and rain-soaked Eugene Country Club.
 
Washington finished the three-day tournament in eighth place after a third-round score of 312. The UW's three-day total was 29-over 893.
 
"I was super proud of the team this week," said UW head coach Mary Lou Mulflur. "Even though we had a rough day today, our team got better this week. They have started to embrace the way we do things, and I am proud of the progress we made this week."
 
Junior Brittany Kwon, a junior from Bremerton, Wash., had the top round of the day among the UW team, shooting a 5-over 77. She finished in a tie for 31st place overall.
 
Deng shot a 6-over 78 on Wednesday, leaving her 4-over for the tournament, good for a tie for ninth.
 
Sophomore Camille Boyd was one of those tied with Kwon for 31st, at 9-over for the tournament. Freshman Kennedy Knox finished in a tie for 36th (11-over) and Jamie Hsieh tied for 42nd overall, at 16-over.
 
Host Oregon won the Pac-12 Championship, while Ducks sophomore Hsin-Yu Lu won individual medalist at 6-under par.
 
At 2:00 p.m. PT, on Wed., April 27, the NCAA will announce the field for the NCAA Women's Golf Championships on a selection show on the Golf Channel. NCAA Regionals will be held at Albuquerque, N.M.; Ann Arbor, Mich.; Franklin, Tenn.; Stanford, Calif.; Stillwater, Okla.; and Tallahassee, Fla.
 
The NCAA national championships will be played at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 20-25.
