20 Facts for 20 Wins with Sun Devil Softball

Apr 21, 2022

TEMPE, Ariz. - Historical times are in the making for the 2022 Arizona State softball team this season as they have won 20 games during the last 47 days. For the second week in a row, the program sits atop of the Pac-12 rankings, the first time since Jan. 5, 2012 as they have gone undefeated against four Pac-12 opponents.

This past weekend, the Sun Devils earned the longest active win streak in the country after No. 1 Oklahoma was defeated on their road trip in Austin.

This is the 15th time in program history that an ASU softball team has won ten straight games, and only the fifth time that an ASU softball team has won twenty straight, with the last time coming in 2013 when they won 21 straight.

Within the 20-game stretch for the Sun Devils, they've hit 52 home runs, which is about 2.6 per game, while holding opponents to 17 home runs and 2.4 runs per game compared to ASU's 8.4 runs per game. The Sun Devils currently have four starters that are batting above .400 in the last twenty games - Yannira Acuña .490, Cydney Sanders .433, Savannah Price .432 and Emily Cazares .400.

Despite playing the fewest games in the Pac-12, the Sun Devils lead the conference in runs (107), RBIs (103), and home runs (33)

The group of 19 have been under the watchful eye of the softball community, and even highlighted on National Television. Below are 20 statistical facts from the win streak that Sun Devil softball has accomplished.
