Two Huskey Homers Help Dawgs Win 5-0

SEATTLE – The No. 10 Washington Huskies picked up their 30th win of the season in a 5-0 victory over No. 21 Stanford on Friday night.
 
Gabbie Plain tossed her 14th complete game and ninth shutout of the season. The reigning Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week struck out seven, while allowing no walks with four hits.
 
Madison Huskey hit her first of two home runs of the contest in the first inning. Huskey sent a line drive that went out over the left field wall to put Washington up 2-0.
 
In the fourth, Kelley Lynch added a pair of insurance runs with a single up the middle that scored Lilly Agan and Olivia Johnson for the 4-0 lead.
 
With one out and no one on in the fifth, Huskey hit her second home run of the game.
 
Plain retired the final six batters to secure the 5-0 victory for the Dawgs.
 
Washington and Stanford meet for game two on Saturday with a 2 p.m. first pitch from Husky Softball Stadium.

Madison Huskey had her first multi-home run game for the first time this season and the first since March 5, 2021 at Hawaii.

Washington has won its last five games vs. Stanford in Seattle. The Huskies are outscoring the Cardinal 31-2 over that span.
