Hilcoff, McCarthy Earn All-Conference Honors

May 4, 2022

EUGENE, Ore. – Hanna Hilcoff and Morgan McCarthy earned spots on the All-Pac 12 Second Team, the league announced on Wednesday.

Both players will make a bit of Duck history as Hilcoff is Oregon's second player to earn back-to-back All-Pac 12 honors (Shannon Williams, 2018-2019) and McCarthy is Oregon's first midfielder to earn all-league recognition in the Pac-12.

Hilcoff enters the Pac-12 Tournament leading the Ducks in goals (41) and points (46). The junior attacker scored multiple goals in 12 of 16 regular season games with eight hat tricks. She also grabbed 34 draw controls and tied her career-high with five caused turnovers as an attacker.

With two goals in Wednesday's Pac-12 Tournament first round game against Colorado, Hilcoff can become the fastest Duck to 100 goals by reaching the century mark in 36 games. The current record-holder is Williams, who scored her 100th goal in her 40th game.

McCarthy keyed Oregon's offense and defense this season as one of UO's only midfielders who consistently played on both ends of the field. She started all 15 games she played in this season, missing one due to an injury. The do-it-all sophomore was one of three Pac-12 players to record at least 50 draw controls, 20 goals and 10 ground balls in the 2022 regular season.

The native of Pawling, N.Y. improved dramatically on the draw from her freshman to sophomore season, grabbing 40 more draw controls in her second year. McCarthy had at least four draw controls in nine of the Ducks' 16 games. Her eight draws against Arizona State were the most in a game by any Oregon player in 2022.

McCarthy and Hilcoff will lead the Ducks into the Pac-12 Tournament, which starts on Wednesday, May 4 at 4:30 p.m. against Colorado. The game is will be televised on Pac-12 Network.
