Plain Drafted by Athletes Unlimited

May 4, 2022

SEATTLE – Gabbie Plain was drafted in the Athletes Unlimited Collegiate Softball Draft this afternoon. Plain was one of 13 current NCAA student-athletes selected.

The fifth year senior adds this honor to her list, including being named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award last month. The 2021 Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year is a three-time All-American, three-time Pac-12 First Team honoree and a finalist for USA Softball's Collegiate Player of the Year in 2021.

Plain has cemented her name into the Husky record book. Early this season, Plain became the second Husky in program history to record 1,000 career strikeouts as well as the fourth Husky with 100-plus career wins. In her career, Plain posts a 1.49 ERA with 80 complete-games and 44 shutouts.

Athletes Unlimited is a player-centered organization, with teams being re-drafted by player captains every week and a scoring system for both teams and players. The upcoming season is set to run from late July until early September.

Plain joins fellow Husky alumnae Sis Bates, Courtney Gano and Victoria Hayward as members of the 2022 AU squad.
