What Pac-12 fans should know for the NCAA Softball Selection Show on Sunday

May 15, 2022

After completing an ultra-competitive conference season, the Pac-12 should be well-represented in the 2022 NCAA Softball Tournament when the 64-team bracket is revealed by the selection committee on Sunday.

Here's what you need to know for the big day.

What time is the selection show?

4 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. MT

What channel is the selection show on?

ESPN2. You can also watch it online on Watch ESPN.

Which Pac-12 teams are expected to make the NCAA Tournament field?

Arizona State earned the Pac-12's automatic bid by winning the conference championship. D1Softball.com, CollegeSportsMadness.com and 247Sports.com all project that UCLA, Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Oregon State and Arizona will earn at-large bids.

Are any Pac-12 teams on the bubble?

D1Softball.com and 247Sports.com listed Oregon State and Arizona among their Last Four In and Utah among their First Four Out. 247Sports.com also predicts that California will narrowly miss the field.

How many Pac-12 teams will earn a top-16 seed and host a four-team Regional?

Three Pac-12 teams are predicted to host Regionals. D1Softball.com projects ASU as the No. 5 overall seed, UCLA as the No. 7 seed and Washington as the No. 14 seed. CollegeSportsMadness.com predicts UCLA as the No. 6 seed, ASU as the No. 7 seed and Washington as the No. 10 seed. 247Sports.com has ASU as the 5-seed, UCLA as the 7-seed and Washington as the 11-seed.

If ASU and UCLA indeed earn a top-8 national seed like the pundits predict, they will also be in line to host a best-of-three Super Regional if they win their Regionals.

When does the NCAA Tournament begin?

Regionals begin May 20 and run through May 22. Super Regionals open May 26 and are completed by May 29. The eight teams that survive those rounds will meet at the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City on June 2-9/10.
