PALO ALTO, Calif. – The USC baseball team dropped an 21-2 decision at No. 4 Stanford on Friday night in the penultimate game of their season.
The Trojans fall to 25-27 overall on the year and 8-21 in Pac-12 play. Stanford moves to 36-14 overall and 20-9 in conference action. The Cardinal clinched a share of the Pac-12 title with the win.
Stanford jumped on top with three runs in the first and never looked back. The Cardinal broke the game open with a three-run fourth, two-run fifth and three-run sixth. An eight-run seventh added the exclamation point.
USC got on the board in the seventh, scoring on a Stanford error, and then added a run with an RBI knock from Adrian Colon-Rosado in the eighth. Emilio Rosas drove in a run in the ninth.
